Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Congress party during an election rally in Akola, Maharashtra, on Saturday. He argued that a stronger Congress would weaken and harm the country.

Modi accused Congress of benefiting from a divided India. “Congress believes that a weaker country means a stronger party. When Congress gains strength, the country becomes helpless,” he said.

Modi also claimed that Congress has historically tried to divide various castes. “They prevented SC-ST and OBC communities from uniting, creating divisions to weaken their collective voice and votes, which in turn benefits Congress,” he explained.

Call for Unity Among SC Communities

Modi urged Scheduled Castes (SC) to stay united, warning that Congress seeks to exploit their divisions. “If SC communities are divided, Congress will take advantage and strip away their rights, using this to strengthen its position,” he cautioned. He emphasized the need for unity with the slogan “Ek Hai Toh Safe Hai” (If united, we are safe).

Modi on Article 370

Addressing the issue of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Modi accused Congress of wanting to restore it, which he believes would lead to more violence in the region. “Congress aims to bring back Article 370, which will only lead to violence in Jammu and Kashmir. Those supporting this move are separatists, terrorists, and anti-India forces, and this has become Congress’s position too,” he asserted.

Modi’s comments were in response to a recent resolution by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly calling for dialogue to restore the region’s special status. All parties, except the BJP, supported this resolution.
